Melinda Brunner, co-founder and President of Katz Brunner Healthcare (KBH), has been active in the healthcare arena since 1991, working with hospital administration, boards of directors, revenue cycle staff, physician groups, local employers and benefits consultants.
From 2008 to the present, Mrs. Brunner has served as a senior level consultant responsible for professional consulting services with community hospitals and affiliated physician groups throughout the country providing market intelligence, contract negotiation, financial analytics and strategy development regarding managed care issues.
Mrs. Brunner also serves as the primary corporate liaison with Syntact Healthcare, KBH’s affiliate partner for unique Intuitive Application™ software and critical data related to managed care issues.
As VP of Operations from 2000 to 2008, Mrs. Brunner was instrumental in the development and analysis of multiple large data bases of national healthcare services. Her specialized project work included complex financial modeling of various reimbursement methodologies for hospitals and physicians, strategic charge master reviews, PHO fee schedule development and maintenance and development of employer outreach programs.
Ms. Brunner completed her Master’s in Business Administration in 1997 at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and is a 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Business School.
Alan Katz, co-founder of Katz Brunner Healthcare (KBH), and its predecessor organization Katz Healthcare Services (KHS), is a nationally recognized managed care consultant, author, trainer, group facilitator and speaker.
Today, Mr. Katz serves in a Consultant Emeritus role, offering unique perspectives from his managed care and statistical analysis experience from both the healthcare provider and the business consumer perspectives obtained during a career spanning over 40 years.
Alan Katz has been active in the healthcare arena since 1972, working with hospital boards of directors, hospital CEOs and CFOs, executive healthcare organization administration in department head functions such as marketing, human resources, managed care contracting, and medical staff relations.
From 1989 to present, Alan Katz has been a senior level consultant responsible for professional consulting services with community hospitals and affiliated physician groups in 30 states providing data analysis, market intelligence, contract negotiation, and strategy development regarding managed care issues.
Mr. Katz earned his MBA (1977) and BA (1972) from Michigan State University, and performed post graduate work at the Institute of Gerontology of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University.
